2022年12月3-4日，以“生态文明与低碳转型”为主题的第五届国际学生环境生态论坛在北京师范大学隆重召开。由于疫情原因，本届论坛采用线上形式并面向全球进行直播。会议由北京师范大学、北京环境科学学会和中国高等教育学会生态文明教育研究分会主办，北京师范大学环境学院、北京师范大学国际交流与合作处和北京环境科学学会环境教育分会承办。

   On December 3-4, 2022, the 5th International Student’s Ecology and Environment Forum with the theme of "Ecological Civilization and Low-Carbon Transition" was held at Beijing Normal University. Due to the epidemic situation, the ISEEF is live broadcast globally. The conference was organized by Beijing Normal University, Beijing Society for Environmental Science and Ecological Civilization Education & Research Branch of China Association of Higher Education, and hosted by the School of Environment, Beijing Normal University, the Office of International Exchange & Cooperation, Beijing Normal University and the Environmental Education Branch of Beijing Society for Environmental Science.

   Dean Shen Zhenyao first expressed a warm welcome and sincere thanks to the teachers and students attending the ISEEF and briefly introduced the development process of the School of Environment of Beijing Normal University and the International Student Environment and Ecology Forum. He hoped the attendees could share their views on this forum and give advice for global green development and environmental quality improvement.

    Director Wu Yujun, on behalf of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of Beijing Normal University, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He stressed that Beijing Normal University has always attached great importance to international exchanges and cooperation. He hoped that the participants could actively contribute to solving global environmental problems and promoting the construction of ecological civilization.

    Academician He Kebin, on behalf of the Ecological Civilization Education & Research Branch of the China Association of Higher Education, made a speech and pointed out that the current environmental challenges are increasing. Green, low-carbon, and sustainable development need to be achieved, and new ideas and plans for global environmental governance are needed. 最后，徐袁会长指出中国的“双碳”目标不仅有助于加快解决传统环境问题，也将推动中国经济的进一步发展，并表示PACE（环球中国环境专家协会）非常愿意加强与北京师范大学环境学院及其他机构的合作，共同为中国的“双碳”目标和全球交流做出贡献。

     Finally, the President of PACE (Professional Association for China’s Environment), Xu Yuan, pointed out that China's "double carbon" goal will not only help to accelerate the solution of traditional environmental problems but also promote the further development of China's economy. He expressed that PACE is willing to contribute to China's "double carbon" goal and global exchanges with the School of Environment of Beijing Normal University and other institutions.

此次论坛开幕式还邀请到加拿大工程院院士Edward McBean教授和意大利那不勒斯费德里科二世大学教授Carlo Gualtieri做了两场精彩的主题报告。McBean教授的报告题为“水的可持续性——21世纪最重要的挑战之一”，Gualtieri教授的报告题为“全球变化下的巨型河流：来自亚马逊、刚果和奥里诺科河的实地观察”。

      At the opening ceremony of the ISEEF, Professor Edward McBean, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Carlo Gualtieri, a Professor at the University of Napoli Federico II in Italy, gave two wonderful keynote speeches. The title of Professor McBean’s report is “Sustainability of Water, One of the Most Important Challenges for the 21st Century.” The title of Professor Gualtieri’s report is “Mega-rivers under the global change: some field observations from Amazon, Congo, and Orinoco.”

下午的分论坛以碳达峰碳中和、绿色金融与环境治理、绿色高质量发展和环境污染防控与生态修复为议题共设置了6个分会场，通过腾讯会议进行线上研究成果分享。

     Six parallel sessions regarding four major topics were held in the afternoon, dealing respectively with Carbon Peak Carbon Neutrality, Green Finance, and Environmental Governance, Green High-Quality Development, Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control, and Ecological Restoration, sharing research results online through Tencent Meeting.

此届论坛吸引了来自二十多个国家近百所国内外高校的365名国际学生参与。他们来自中国、印度、巴基斯坦、缅甸、朝鲜、美国、秘鲁、厄瓜多尔、摩洛哥、毛里求斯、加纳、也门、刚果、卢旺达、埃塞俄比亚、利比里亚等多个国家，就读于帝国理工学院、香港科技大学、北京大学、清华大学、中国人民大学、中国科学院大学、中国农业大学、中国地质大学、北京航空航天大学、北京交通大学、北京林业大学、同济大学、上海交通大学、南京大学、南开大学、天津大学、暨南大学、哈尔滨工业大学、北京师范大学等著名高校。

     The Forum attracted 365 international students from nearly 100 domestic and foreign universities in more than 20 countries. They come from China, India, Pakistan, Myanmar, North Korea, The United States, Peru, Ecuador, Morocco, Mauritius, Ghana, Yemen, Congo, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Liberia, and other countries, who are studying at imperial college London, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Peking University, Tsinghua University, People’s University of China, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China Agricultural University, China University of Geosciences, Bei Hang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing Forestry University, Tongji University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Nanjing University, Nankai University, Tianjin University, Jinan University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Beijing Normal University, and other prestigious universities.

最后，徐琳瑜副院长为闭幕式致辞，对克服重重困难相聚云端参加会议的与会者、学校及各单位的支持、会务组工作人员的辛勤付出都表示了感谢，她表示国际学生环境生态论坛将持续关注全球环境生态研究的重要课题，不断提高会议的影响力，并对在本届论坛取得优秀成绩的同学们表示祝贺，希望同学们在学术道路上踔厉奋发，笃行不怠，同时表达了对下一年论坛的期许。

     At last, Vice Dean Xu Linyu delivered a speech for the closing ceremony. She thanked all the online participants who had overcome great difficulties to be present, all the support from BNU and other research institutions, as well as the hard work of the organizing committee. She pointed out that The International Students’ Ecology and Environment Forum will continue focusing on pressing global environmental and ecological research topics and improve its influence and reach. Vice Dean Xu congratulated the oral presenters’ well-deserved success and hoped all students could uphold their determination through their academic and career endeavors. She also expressed high expectations for the next year’s ISEEF.
