“International Course of Environmental Accounting and Management " endedTime :2016-05-29


The international graduate course in Environmental Accounting and Management, which was taught mainly by Professor Sergio Ulgiati from the Environmental Science and Engineering department of the Italian Parthenope University and professor Mark T. Brown from the Environmental Policy Research Center of the Florida University of America, successfully ended on June the 18th in the Conference Room of the College of Environment.

The course, which was jointly organized by the College of Environment of Beijing Normal University, the key state joint laboratory of environmental simulation and pollution control and the Chinese Branch of the International Energy Association, lasted for eight days. The course discussed the application, framework, key technologies and cases studies of the theory of energy value and other theories of ecological economics in the areas of environmental accounting, ecological and economic systems analysis, regional development decisions, ecosystem management, resource allocation, urban systems research and simulation of complex dynamic systems. It focused on the new progress and applications of energy value methodss and their combinations with other methods. The course not only attracted students and faculty from our own department, but also from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Macau University, Tsinghua University, Peking University, Wuhan University, Beijing University of Science and Technology, China Agricultural University, China University of Geosciences (Beijing), Dalian University of Technology , South China University of Technology, Lanzhou University, Sichuan Agricultural University, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shenyang Institute of Applied Ecology, the Chinese Academy of Geography, Japan's National Institute for Environmental Studies and other research institutes.

The success of the "International Course of Environmental Accounting and Management" will not only raise the level of China's research on energy value, but also further strengthen the cooperation between our department and the International Energy Association.
